Final Year PhD Candidate and Women in Robotics UK Lead, Women in Robotics
Edith is a STEM advocate pursuing a PhD in Engineering Mathematics (Robotics) at the University of Bristol in partnership with the Sheffield Institute for Translational Neuroscience. Her research interests centre around adaptive wearable robotic orthoses for progressive neuromuscular diseases, integrating codesign with soft robotics and personalised control. As a Women in Robotics UK lead, she secures network growth, funding, and partnerships to enhance recruitment, retention, and promotion in robotics. She has completed a first-class MEng in Mechanical Engineering and a Tokyo Institute of Technology Research Fellowship. Edith’s interdisciplinary experience includes humanitarian engineering design, aerospace systems and propulsion, and additive manufacturing.
